We are sad to announce that Councilor Maryellen Raymond resigned from Borough Council on July 10, 2024. We will miss her and thank her for her years of hard work on behalf of Borough residents. We wish her and her family all the best!

Given that there is now a vacancy on Borough Council, we are accepting applications to fill the seat. If you are interested in applying, please note the following schedule and criteria.

August 7th Work Session - Council will vote to formally accept Councilor Raymond's resignation and will also hold interviews of applicants at Borough Hall, beginning at 5:30 P.M. (Applicant resumes will be accepted beginning July 10th, 2024, and are due on July 26th, 2024. Candidates interested in applying for this vacancy must be registered electors residing in Ward 2 and must have resided there continuously for at least one year immediately prior to being appointed. August 13th Council Meeting - Council will vote to appoint a new member by adopting a resolution. The new member will then be sworn in at the Chancellor Center. The newly appointed Council Member will serve from August 13th through December 31, 2025.
