E-News Update

Happy Spring, All. We hope this message finds you doing well and enjoying the warmer weather!

Our Civil Service Commission has begun the process of hiring a new full-time police officer. Applications must be returned no later than 5:00pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

Newtown Fire & Emergency Services is reminding us all that Smoke Detectors Save Lives. It is important to make sure that they, along with carbon monoxide detectors, are maintained properly.

A big shout out goes out to all of our local first responders who responded to neighboring emergencies over the March 16-17 weekend. We are very grateful for the safety and protection you provide to our community.

Given the adoption of the Single-Use Plastics Ordinance on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, a FAQs- Single-Use Plastics document is provided to address any questions the public may have.

Our website calendar continues to be your best resource to find the dates, times, agendas, Zoom links, meeting recordings, and other important information regarding borough meetings. This month's Work Session will be held on April 3 followed by the Council Meeting on April 9 and will include ordinance amendments, grant applications, and more. The monthly Council Meetings take place at the Chancellor Center and are livestreamed on YouTube.

Please check out updates on our website homepage for the latest news, meetings, events, and more.

To become more involved in our local community, please see 2024 Volunteer Opportunities.
