E-News Update

Hello, All!

Here we are, flipping to February and waiting to see what Pennsylvania's favorite rodent, Punxatawney Phil, "has to say" about the arrival of Spring.

It was a very busy January in our local government, with reorganization meetings of Borough Council and its committees taking place. Any changes in leadership and membership on our various Committees of Council can be found here. We do still have a handful of vacancies if you'd like to consider one of the remaining 2024 Volunteer Opportunities.

Our website calendar continues to be your best resource to find the dates, times, agendas, Zoom links, and other important information regarding all borough meetings. This month's Work Session will be held on February 7th followed by the Council Meeting on February 13th. The monthly Council Meetings take place at the Chancellor Center and are livestreamed on YouTube.

Last week we posted an alert on our website to notify pedestrians of dangerous walkway conditions on the Centre Avenue bridge, announcing that Newtown police barricades would remain in place until fixed. Thank you to PennDOT and all who helped to expedite this repair and make it a safe passageway for pedestrians once again!

Please check our website homepage for the latest update on the hiring of a borough manager along with other news, meetings, events, and more.

If you have friends and neighbors in the Borough who may also be interested in staying informed, please forward the email and encourage them to sign up for E-News Alerts too.

Best regards,

Newtown Borough Mayor & Council
