Newtown Borough
E-News Update

'Tis the season, all!

Local volunteer organizations have been working diligently to provide a fun and festive holiday season in Newtown Borough, beginning with the annual tree lighting, holiday house tour, and holiday parade this weekend! In addition, save the date for our 2nd Annual Caroling Through the Borough, sponsored by our own Recreation Board, on Tuesday, December 19th. You'll want to check our website calendar for all the details on these events and more!

As a reminder, the borough waives parking restrictions from Thanksgiving to New Year's Day to allow for a more relaxing holiday shopping and dining experience.

The Steeple View Phase 2 Preliminary and Final Plan application will be decided upon by Borough Council at our December 12th Council Meeting. This meeting will mark the end of President Grunde-McLaughlin's 10 years of service on Borough Council. Councilor Szwajkos will be completing 4 years on Council, and Councilor and Mayor Emeritus O'Brien will be leaving Council after his appointment last September to fill the vacancy left by Susan Turner. We wish them all a very fond farewell and extend our gratitude for the time and effort they have dedicated to Newtown Borough.

Please check our website homepage for the latest updates pertaining to news, meetings, events, and more.

As we begin to set our sights on the new year, we welcome you to consider the upcoming 2024 Volunteer Opportunities.

If you have friends and neighbors in the Borough who may also be interested in staying informed, please forward the email and encourage them to sign up for E-News Alerts too.

Best regards,
