E-News Update

Hello, All!

Our sincere gratitude goes out to Kris Bauman, Paul Salvatore, and Gregg Taylor for submitting applications to fill the Borough Council vacancy in Ward 1! Please see Borough Council Vacancy for the details which will result in a new Newtown Borough Councilor being sworn into office on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 and serving through January 2, 2024. Ward 1 voters will have the opportunity to vote for 2 Borough Councilors on November 7, 2023, for both a 2-year and 4-year term. For further information regarding elections, please visit the Bucks County Board of Elections website.

Have you taken the pedestrian safety and walkability study survey yet? There's still time, plus an opportunity to attend a pop-up meeting on Welcome Day, June 11th.

Did you know that Borough Council has advertised an amendment to the Streets & Sidewalk Ordinance? Please click here to review proposed changes.

Our website calendar continues to be your best resource to find the dates, times, and other important information regarding Borough Council and Committees of Council meetings. As a reminder, Council Work Sessions are held at Borough Hall. The monthly Council Meetings take place at the Chancellor Center and are livestreamed on YouTube. The meeting agendas are posted as well if you're interested in keeping up to date on pending projects and other matters being considered by Borough Committees, Boards and Council.

The calendar is also where you'll find upcoming special events, including this year's line up for Movies in the Park, beginning on Wednesday, June 7th!

Thank you to all who moved their vehicles off borough streets for our annual street sweeping! With your help, we were successful in removing 32 cubic yards of debris from our roads and preventing it from washing away into our waterways.

Vacancies on our Committees of Council are always changing. Please click 2023 Volunteer Opportunities if you're interested in a quick update and potentially taking on a new role.

If you have friends and neighbors in the Borough who may also be interested in staying informed, please forward the email and encourage them to sign up for E-News Alerts too.

Best regards,

Newtown Borough Mayor & Council
