Well, we managed to get through January without significantly cold temperatures or snowfall. We're hoping that February goes as smoothly but, in case the need arises, please be advised that our Ordinances pertaining to Snow and Ice Emergencies and Snow and Ice Removal can always be accessed at https://www.boroughofnewtown.com/codes. If you have a fire hydrant in your right of way, please don't forget to clear around it!

Our website calendar continues to be your best resource to find the dates, times, and other important information regarding Borough Council and Committees of Council meetings. As a reminder, Council Work Sessions are held at Borough Hall and via Zoom, while the Council Meetings take place at the Chancellor Center and are livestreamed on YouTube. Participation in public comment, however, does require in person attendance.

While on the calendar, you may notice that the Newtown Library Company is again hosting their Booklovers' Party for the first time in a couple of years. This event provides the funding they depend upon to maintain their historic building and all that it offers to our community!

Thank you to all who play a role in keeping our borough such a desirable place to be! We were very happy to appoint eight new committee members last month, and have two more applicants to consider this month! Click 2023 Volunteer Opportunities if you're interested in filling a remaining vacancy.
