Newtown Borough
E-News Update

Hello All,

Wishing everyone well as summer wraps up this month and many are focusing on getting back-to-school! With that in mind, Newtown Borough recently received a Transportation and Community Development Initiative (TCDI) Grant in the amount of $65,000 for a multimodal transportation study. Funding will primarily be applied towards pedestrian and bicycle safety. To further promote pedestrian safety, “Slow Your Roll” car magnets are available free of charge to residents at Borough Hall.

In other good news, the Borough has reached an agreement with Newtown Township, following months of negotiations, to continue providing life-saving fire protection services.

You may have heard about the proposed sale of the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority and are wondering if and how that might effect Borough residents. Please see our scrolling news for more information.

Annual road improvement work will begin this month on N. Congress Street between Jefferson Street and Frost Lane, in cooperation with Newtown Township. More information will also be posted in the website scrolling news as the remaining road work is scheduled.

Please note that the August Work Session has been canceled and pending agenda items will be discussed and voted on at the Tuesday, August 9th Council Meeting to be held at the Chancellor Center at 7:00pm; these meetings can be viewed through our YouTube Channel, however, attendance is required for public comment.

If you have a neighbor who may also be interested in staying informed, please forward the email and encourage them to sign up for monthly E-News Alerts too.

Best regards,

Newtown Borough Mayor & Council
