The month of January certainly lived up to its reputation here with both cold temperatures and snowfall. We're all hoping that February goes a bit easier on us but, in response to a frequently asked question, please know that our Ordinances pertaining to Snow and Ice Emergencies and Snow and Ice Removal can always be accessed at https://www.boroughofnewtown.com/codes.

Last month we informed you that we'd be welcoming some newly elected officials into office. The new Council has been through an Organization Meeting, along with two additional meetings, and is working diligently to serve Newtown Borough. We once again thank our outgoing Mayor and Councilors for all the hard work and their dedication to our local government.

Please note that all meeting information is posted on our Newtown Borough Calendar. Meeting agendas have been modified to focus the Work Session on information sharing and discussions in preparation for the Council Meeting, at which most actions will take place. We welcome your feedback on these changes. The start time for the Work Sessions has been changed back to 5:30pm to accommodate the business community and those who have more availability at the earlier time. Most of the meetings of Council in 2022 are scheduled to be held at the Chancellor Center and livestreamed on YouTube.
